Girl Genius en/decoder

For those people reading the "Girl Genius" comic series from Studio
Foglio, who don't want to cut up the "Secret Blueprints" issue to make
the decoder wheel, I've done a version in Spectrum BASIC. Enter the
message key and the encoded message and it will decode it for you.
The program checks for unrecognised characters or invalid commands and
will stop with an error message if it encounters one.

For those who haven't read the comics, Girl Genius is set in an
alternative 19th century Europe "where Mad Science rules the World ...
but not very well.". The decoder wheel is a bit like an Enigma device,
but comprising just three code wheels and with a simpler mechanism -
and made of cardboard. It's still pretty clever, though.

The program now also includes a message encoding option.

My program can be taken from the SPOT's Pourri page at YRUA?, and
links for the Studio Foglio and Girl Genius sites are in the Comics
section of my Links page. Note that the plain text BASIC listing shows
all UDGs (eg. for the eight command symbols) as "?", so to follow
the program code you'll need to load it from the TAP with its command
symbol UDGs (just LOAD "" then LOAD "" CODE) and refer to the
instructions in the "Secret Blueprints" issue.
