IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING SPOT/SPEX RELATIONSHIPS
================================================

SPEX is the advertisements index extension to SPOT; indexing Spectrum
promotional features in the magazines; eg. advertisements, competitions,
special offers.

(Please refer to SPOTSPEC.TXT with regard to the following notes.)

Although the two databases use the same file structure they are
maintained independently; which means that system-generated unique
numeric record IDs of type "Sequence" will be different for the same
product title within the two databases.

Thus (referring to the "Relationships" section in SPOTSPEC.TXT) the
following relationships can be used ONLY WITHIN a database, NOT BETWEEN
databases:

FCOMMT.FCLINK [---] FGAMES.(FCLINK)
FREFS.FRLINK2 [<--] FGAMES.FGLINK
FREFS.(FESEQ) [---] FEATURE.FESEQ

If you wish to merge the databases it would be necessary to use the
Topic Title field (FGAMES.FGNAME) as the common parent reference field
between the two databases and then combine the related records matched
under that title in each of the two databases. Bear in mind that although
most topics have entries in both databases there are still many topics
which only occur in one or the other.

With regard to the reference code look-up files; FPUBLR, FREFCDE and
FTYPES have more records in SPEX than in SPOT; whereas FMAGZNE and
FHOSTS are the same in both databases.
