LASER ATTACK (1K ZX-81)
from Electronics & Computing (August 1981), page 45

No 'REMS' are included for, as it stands, the program just fits into 1K.
Lines 10 to 30 wait for the player to select 'Q' to start the game. The loop
from 50 to 70 prints out a set of 6 targets, each composed of 4 characters.

Two nested loops follow: lines 80 to 160 define the number of tries the
player has before the message in line 170 signals the end of the game; lines
110 to 150 define the track of the 'spacecraft' across the screen, with a
branch to line 190 if the player presses 'L' for 'Laser'. Line 190 prints an
explosion, and subsequent debris directly underneath the moving character.
Line 210 branches back to the main loop giving the player only one shot per
run.

If, with practice, the game becomes too easy, the 20 in line 80 can be
changed to any other number between 12 and 20. The spacecraft moves quickly,
though, so keep your finger on the laser button.
