Mode Music - Maurice David Wood (Your Spectrum-Issue 11-Page 70)

This program isn't really so much about music, rather it's about
providing an aural indication of the mode you're in. Using this
machine code routine, you'll get a different sounding keyboard
'blip' for each cursor mode, that is 'E', 'C', 'K', 'G' and 'L' modes.
As an added extra, I've even added another sound for every time
you hit the Enter key.

[Hex loader instructions omitted]

[The auto-run program "Load Me" at the start of MODETONE.TAP will load]
[the m/code and execute the following actions for you. ]

Once the tape has loaded the code back into the Spectrum, you
can turn on the sound effects using the command RANDOMIZE USR 65105
[it says 65106 in the magazine, but that's wrong]; to turn it all off,
type RANDOMIZE USR 65120.
OK, so it does sound a bit like one of the checkout tills in a super-
market, but it does provide useful feedback as to which mode
you're in at any time.

[ !WARNING! ]
[This program crashes if If.1 is connected, and tends to mess up the ]
[Basic editor after a while. ]
